ALVAN SETH-SMITH

COMMITTEE

Alvan has been a passionate supporter of Middlesex CCC all his life, a Member for 55 years and Seaxe Member for 40 years. He has been thrilled to have witnessed personally every Championship title and limited over trophy win since 1976 and created the Annual Handbook to celebrate the 1980 Championship success. He remained Editor for ten years.


Alvan first served on the Middlesex General Committee aged 27 and completed 35 years on it and its successor, the Executive Board. He was on the Finance Committee for 20 years.


Currently Alvan enjoys being on the Seaxe Committee, representing Middlesex on the County Cricket Heritage Forum and serving as a Trustee of the Wilf Slack Young Cricketers Development Trust. He and his wife Rowena are both Life Members of Middlesex. They live in Northwood.
 

After a degree at King's College London, Alvan worked for professional bodies before retiring as Director of Education and Deputy Chief Executive of the General Dental Council.
 

A Freeman of the City of London, Alvan was Master of the Worshipful Company of Glovers 2017-18.
